Yet another planning application for Aslockton
GR Redford 20th October 2018

Aslockton is suffering yet another cynical Planning Application.

If the past few years no less that five unsuitable planning applications made by developers or land owners have been made in Aslockton. All have been refused by Rushcliffe Borough Council, one was later allowed (the Avant Home site) on appeal and another is currently being appealed.

The spate of applications is an attempt by developers and/or land-owners to circumvent the LOCAL PLAN which point developments of this type away from settlements such as Aslockton to urban areas or key settlements.

Land Owners and developers are not bringing forward development on sites that already have planning permission which is causing Rushcliffe to have a short-fall in the requred 5 year Housing Supply. This short-fall has the knock-on effect of making certain policies in the Local Plan 'out-of-date' so little or no weight can be applied to them in planning applications. It is this 'loop-hole' that applicants are exploiting.

Whatton-in-the-Vale Parish Council has objected to the application.

Full details of the application can be found on the Rushcliffe Borough Wesite (http://rushcliffe.gov.uk) in the Planning section.
