Gregg Redford 2018-04-27
Residents interested in getting involved with the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group can now view all the current information about the Steering Group on the Neighbourhood Plan section of this website.
There are also links in the section to general information about the purpose and work involved in developing a Neighbourhood Plan.
If you are interested in joining the Steering Group or may wish to join one of the working parties  that will evolve as part of the plan development process, please contact the Parish Clerk (contact details are available on the Parish Council | Council Members section - select from the navigation bar on the main web site page).

It is vitally important that the possible commitment to the project by residents  is established and an inaugral meeting of the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group is held as soon as possible. As was stated in a previous post, a minimum of ten people is required to ensure the viability of the project.

If there is insufficient interest or commitment then the project will be cancelled.

What is a Neighbourhood Plan?

Neighbourhood planning gives local communities the opportunity to plan for their local
areas and decide what the place where you live should look like and how it should develop and grow in the future. It can be used to:
• choose where new homes, shops and offices should be built
• have a say on what those new buildings should look like
• influence the design and functionality of open spaces around where you live
• grant planning permission for the new buildings your community wants to see go ahead.
Neighbourhood planning cannot be used to block the building of the homes and businessesconsidered to be necessary to meet the borough's current and future needs. However, you
can use it to influence the type, design, location and mix of new development.
